Our Story

Where it started...

Established in 1846, New Hope is one of the first churches in the greater Nashville area. We exist today and will tomorrow because we stand on the shoulders of those who went before us. For over 150 years, we've been committed to making disciples of the nations from right here in Hermitage on the corner of South New Hope Road and Central Pike.

Where we are now...

Remembering those who have gone before us, we keep our eyes forward with a philosophy we call Ancient Future. We have a historic past... but we desire to make history for His name's sake. So today, we are a multi-generational and multi-national church that seeks to love our community the way that Jesus did. We do this through:

- Weekly Worship Gatherings
- Monthly Prayer Meetings
- Life Groups and D-Groups
- Local Food Pantry & Food Delivery
- Partnering with local schools, ministries, and businesses
- Partnering with church plants across our nation and our globe

Where we are headed...

"And you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." - Acts 1:8

We desire to see Hermitage become like Heaven, but it doesn't stop in Hermitage. The change that we have seen in our community is something we want to reproduce in other places.

Jerusalem (Local)
Serving our community is core to who we are. We provide The Hope Pantry for our members and neighbors. We gladly serve in local apartment complexes in our community and continue to build bridges into people’s lives. We are always mindful of the words of Jesus in Matthew 25:40,

“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”

Judea (Statewide)
We are currently partnered with multiple ministries in Tennessee. We seek to "defend the cause of the fatherless" by partnering with Isaiah 117 House. We seek to love the people of Tennessee through block parties both on campus and off. The town of Waverly, TN was devastated by flash flooding in August of 2021. New Hope was able to bless and care for people by donating bottled water, box fans, and non-perishables.

Samaria (Nationwide)
We are also partnered with multiple churches throughout our country. In places like Washington DC, South Carolina, and praying about partnering with churches in the western United States.

The ends of the earth… (Global)
We're so excited to announce that we just sent our very first international mission team to Busia, Kenya. As we continue to partner with churches there, we are praying towards more ministry opportunities in western Canada and India. We also join in the efforts of Operation Christmas Child every year to send the Gospel to children who have never heard it.
